Mini Getaway & Food Trip to Penang Island~ Day 1!

Vacation started by waking up early to go take out blood samples from the body at PathLab. What a good way to kick start a vacation right? Haha. Why so sudden you ask? Nah, I just like the secure feeling that my body is healthy. :) The fasting period made me so hungry omgg especially when I first woke up in the morning. It was like...torture. Then I distracted myself by updating December Pink, my online store. Do check it out on Facebook/ Instagram @decemberpinkk :) and if any of my readers have any suggestions to make,  feel free to tell me! :)

When the needle poked into my flesh, it felt like a bee's sting or an ant's bite. To those who never got bitten by an ant before, it is not exactly the no feeling kind of feeling. It's like someone pinching you but on a smaller surface area. Hurts at first like a pinch as I said. Then it will fade away. Hopefully I described well. :)

Then had breakfast at the food court opposite Wooley. Had soya bean and this bowl of lovely sliced chicken hor fun :)

Time to head to the famous Penang Island! :) To be honest, I've rarely been to this famous island in Malaysia. Well I meant I rarely explore this island even though I come visit my uncle here sometimes. So I am pretty excited! :)

Pretty isn't it? :)
Upon arrival, it was already time for lunch! Yes, food trip meant lots of food lah. Be prepared to have all your salivary glands activated as the upcoming food posts will make you feel hungry and your stomach will growl. (Okay lah, maybe exaggerated a bit haha) Lunch was @ Sininam Thailand Restaurant located in Bayan Lepas. There's a lot of food stores to choose from in Bayan Lepas. Ranging from Japanese to Indian. ;) The food here is pretty good. Had ulam for appetiser and i don't know if it's only me, but I have never tried ulam before. And it tastes pretty good. All you just do is to dip fresh vege like cucumber into a special sauce(belacan) made up of lemon , chilli (and maybe prawn gravy/paste?) Well it's a special sauce like I said haha.

For main, we had white tomyam, Thai style steamed fish, Cashewnut chicken and Belacan vege. (P.S sorry that I didn't take any of the food pictures above cause I totally forgot when the food arrived) Was too attracted to the food that our forks and spoons were already moving so fast, like an eating competition haha. I even had two bowls of rice, imagine that!

Checked in to our hotel, Eastin Hotel also located at Bayan Lepas :) Just a five minute walk from Queensbay Mall. And the best thing is they have FREE WIFI! throughout the hotel :) Since mummy was at the Toastmaster Convention, and we don't really like to shop without our shopping companion, we decided to go for a dip in the pool! The pool is nice and just the right size. Not too small.

Shaggy Dog! HAHA
Not a good idea, so here goes. This was after the swim. It is obvious! Just look at the eyes!
Sister and I before heading out :)
After the swim, got ready and headed out to fetch mummy from her hotel in Batu Feringghi for dinner. :) Went to The Ship a very nice decorated restaurant nearby there. It's really like a themed restaurant with waiters and waitresses all dressed as the cabin crew. The ambience was very cosy and warm. Too bad the lighting there was pretty dark so the photos didn't turn out that well. Ate like non stop haha. I had a Fillet Mignon steak. Yums. It had a piece of bacon on top of it which made it double yums! Hehe. I also ordered ice cream after the main course ~ chocolate temptation. The pricing here is pretty reasonable compared to other restaurants. Had dessert as well ~ Chocolate Temptations.

Failed at acting cool. I can't live without my smile haha

The ship!

Mummy and Daddy Mok
I saw some people paragliding as well. So fun!

Outfit of the Night
Dress - Cotton On
Shoes - Vincci
Love the dress. Striking color but simple design, what more can you ask? :) Pair it with a tiny clutch/bag and you're ready to go! :)
And that wraps up Day 1!
XOXO

Family Dinner & Mini Outfit Update!

I am going for a short hiatus after this blog post because exams is just around the corner. Choir competition as well. Will blog about the competition after the exams which will be the end of May by that time, sobs.  Have been stressing out a lot lately and finally I managed to slip in some blogging time to reduce all the unnecessary stress.

So, last Saturday, Aunt organized this mini get-together with a few kith and kin to celebrate my Grand Aunt's birthday.  Well, we just ate dinner together, no cakes or gifts lol.  And hence no pictures from the dinner :( All my cousins and my siblings were busy candy crushing :( And the older generation were busy playing with my adorable baby niece <3

So, I have really nothing much to blog about the dinner so I have this idea to talk about my outfit, not that it's really that interesting ;oh well;

xx

Decided to match a black tank to this pair of high waisted floral pants. To keep things simple and neat.  Having too much prints on the body might turn out disastrous, especially if you are going for a mini family dinner D: Don't want to turn out like a peacock instead :P

Wore a pair of pink feather earrings to spice up things a little bit. So things wouldn't be so plain.

Black Tank Top x High Waisted Floral Print Pants from Bkk

You'd probably have seen this picture of mine on Instagram if you follow @joyimok.

Loving this shot haha idk why
Bye dearies.

Girl's Talk #1

We can always choose to look at the positive side when things start going downhill.

Well, I know it is easier said than done. Imagine trying to find a white spot on black paper. Is that possible? Well of course it isn't, but what we can do is we can always use a white color pencil to draw on it.  Use extraordinary ways to solve your extraordinary obstacles in life. As girls, we always pick on ourselves and wonder if we are good enough, whether in front of your friends or even your crush.  Humans were never born perfect.  Our imperfections are what makes us vary from one another.  Just close your eyes and imagine a world filled with perfect people, no flaws.  Woah, pretty impressive right? Well yeah they are robots. :) So, why not embrace our imperfections and look at the brighter side of things.  Things might not be smooth sailing but maybe these will turn out to be life lessons, moulding us into a better person.  The reason to why I am suddenly blogging about this is that life isn't all that smooth sailing for me now either, but I realize I have a lot of wonderful friends being there for me. :) Why not love the ones that already love us so much? Why think about imbeciles being there to trip you over?   These people aren't worth our time at all.  If they want to stay in our lives, true friends will make an effort to do so.  I understand how it feels when you are so confused you tend to make mistakes and worsen the whole situation.  Just pause a while, sit back and reflect on what move you should do next.  It's all up to us to decide.  Our choice. Do not try to rush things as it makes no good.  Do not push all the blame unto yourself, if it's a matter involving two people(or a group). The other people are at fault too. :)

P.S. This is all my opinion and I didn't mean to point at anyone.  We may have different point of views at things.  I have more and more delayed posts but this is what I've been going through lately.  I will try my best to update the blog more frequently.  Any advice is welcomed :)

XOXO

Highlight of Mid Sem Holidays: Tiffany Alvord's Live 2013

Was too busy recently.  Not going to type all that much just because I know that if I start rambling, this post will never end.  So, back to the topic before I stray off course.

On the morning of the concert, I was all hyped up already! To be honest, it's my first concert with my sister! Sometimes, I really envy my sister for having all these first times at such a young age. Considering she does everything with me although I'm older than her like 2 years. There's obviously no generation/age gap whatsoever so we are really close though we do quarrel all the time haha.

Was contemplating on what to wear to meet Tiffany Alvord. But in the end I just grabbed whatever I brought with me haha cause we already have to head out and my daddy was nagging already :/ (oopsie!)
Vain like that with Mummy (@ Wedgewood Residence)
We went to Midvalley Megamall/ The Gardens Mall first although we really are kind of broke after all the shopping in KL and Singapore.  Going to blog about the rest of the holidays in the next post because I don't wish to delay this any longer. :)

Life like this 😐

Have you ever went through times when you are so confused you don't know what to do? Have you ever felt like you are stranded on this island alone with no one to turn to? Like no one truly understands you? Even when you know you are loved by a lot of people, you just can't help being pessimistic and feel that way. Even the brightest and happiest teen will surely have some bad days, just more good days.

Behind that very smile you see each day, there will surely be things to worry about. Happy go lucky? Well, maybe there are people like that but I am sure there will be one day when they will reflect on what happened recently and feel gloomy for a bit.

Sometimes I wonder if I should trust what people tell me. I know I should, but the things said feels wrong. It doesn't feel right. I have this tiny feeling, hoping its true but a big part of me is still in denial mode. Have you ever felt so? It doesn't just relate to me right? I have been thinking pretty much these days. False hopes? Well I don't know. I don't know why you did what you did. And right after, things instantly changed. This is really confusing and I do not know what to grasp. It's not typical. Sigh

I really do not know what to do. What's the next move? How should I respond ? Or should I leave it?

22/03/2013

Beh's surprise advanced birthday party! Proud to claim it a... success! :D

We went to Beh's house while she was at tuition and hid in her toilet until she came home. Was kind of excited and all hehe. When she came home from tuition, all she did was she sat down on her sofa, and tried to figure out the password to her iPad (typical Beh!) when we came out and threw confetti all over her :P Her expression was priceless!

Brought her to the dining area and sang her a birthday song. Have you ever heard of the candles that can never been blown out? Well we kind of pulled this prank on her and she tried so hard to blow them all out but the candles.... decided to light up again hahha.

Beh's parents, being extremely kind, took us to HotJack Cafe for our dinner :) We made sooooo much noise there we might even get blacklisted as customers haha but we didn't.  Typical teenagers.  Causing a commotion and having so much fun! Thats what we do. :P

Time for pictures:

With Fungxin :)

Looking dark here :(

Happy Birthday Beh!

Leadership training camp 2013 ♥

This year, Leadership Training Camp is a merged one ~ librarians plus prefects. It's more to physical activities than the original leadership training camp. To be quite honest I don't see the relationship between physical activities and leadership though. All in all it was a super fun one :) Definitely pushed all my girly elements out of me. Hmm speaking of which, maybe that's the purpose of the activities. To make us more manly hahah. It was challenging and the adrenaline rush was love.

This two day and one night camp is indelible and my most aggressive one so far but since its my last, I won't have the chance to join the future camps anymore.

Now the itinerary:

So.
1. Obstacle Course

Whoops! It was tiring to carry out four obstacles! And one which involves muddy water and all oops. I am not going to explain all of the obstacles because it will turn out to be a lengthy post hahah and I'm too tired to do that anyway. (Im having muscle pain throughout the body hahah) If you really are interested then leave a comment below or something; I will elaborate.

If you watched Cadet Kelly, you'd know there this course where you have to crawl under a net, and the ground is mud. Well I went through sand (phew!)

And here's another obstacle that requires stability. You have to cross over there without the help of anyone and you'd have to fall into the water (that contains like rainwater and idk what sediments there) unless you want your entire group to do it again lol. So down we go whoosh!

Oh well. This obstacle was taking a long time so they let people guide us halfway to the end and walk on our own to the end :P

2. Jungle Rope Course

Walking to the destination curiously.
Hahahaha I randomly named the course since it doesn't have a real specific name so... Here are some pictures of the whole course. Imagine the fear and pain standing there at that height hahah. Nah was just scaring you. :P this course is kind of fun though dangerous and all but it was compulsory to be carried out why not have fun instead of panicking and sulking.

3. Senamrobik

Imagine dragging yourself out of bed just to do aerobics. Woke up at 6 just to be greeted by a sweaty and heated up aerobics session! :) it was pretty energising lol :)

4. Telematch

We had this tele match. the usual rucksack jumping kind of thing :) Completely exhausted! And hence no pictures :P

I guess this sums up my Leadership Training Camp.
